Assistant Principal

Greetings and welcome back to Central Elementary School! I am Dr. Denise P. Arrington, the new Assistant Principal and I am beyond excited to embark on this new journey at CES. I am ready to work with the students and their families, staff, and community partners to ensure academic excellence for all of our students. My goal is to create and maintain an engaging partnership with all stakeholders through collaboration to ensure the success of our school and the academic success of our students.

For the past twenty-four years, I have worked tirelessly with elementary school students, which includes fifteen years in the classroom, five years as a Library Media Specialist and four years in administration. I have enjoyed working with students and their families and it gives me great pleasure to meet my past students and they remind me of the impact I have had on their lives.

My primary focus as the assistant principal is:

1. Rb3 (100% of students reading before third grade)

2. K-12 Literacy (Heavy on writing, CKLA)

3. STEM with arts integration and a focus on numeracy

4. Optimal Teaching and Learning Environment (SEL, teacher retention, student-teacher positive relationships)

I appreciate this opportunity to be able to serve our students, teachers, parents/guardians, and the community. I look forward to working with each of you and knowing this will be the best year yet!
