Assistant Principal
Meet the Assistant Principal of Central Elementary School
Hello! I am Dr. Denise Prewitt Arrington, a native of Tuscaloosa. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Tuskegee University, Master of Education from the University of West Alabama, Educational Specialist Degree in Leadership and Doctorate of Education from The University of Alabama.
Prior to embarking on my role in administration, I served as an educator in the area of Special Education for students in 3rd-8th grade. During my tenure as a teacher, I also performed the duties as a Summer Learning District Lead, Special Education Department Lead, Faculty Leader, School of Character Chair, Hospitality Chair, and Student Ambassador Chair. Currently, I am the assistant principal at two elementary schools, Central and Oakdale. In conjunction with the previous stated, I am an adjunct professor at Stillman College, a four year liberal arts institution.
As a transformational leader, it is my goal to motivate, inspire and encourage others to provide multiple opportunities and alternatives to develop life-long learners at Central Elementary School.
In my spare time, my husband and I spend most of our time watching our youngest daughter play softball, basketball and golf.
Warmest Regards,
Dr. Denise P. Arrington
