Congratulations, Robotics Team!

The Central Elementary School Robotics Team placed fourth at the University of Alabama Robotics Competition. The students had to test their computer programming skills and compete with other Alabama students for cool prizes! This is an event where students write programs that navigate their robot across a series of obstacle courses.

Awesome job students and thank you to their sponsor, Ms. Washington!

Solar Eclipse!

CES prepared for the Solar Eclipse by wearing safe eyewear, enjoying Moon Pies, crafting projects and completing a Solar Eclipse Google Slides Presentation that was created by our awesome Instructional Technology Specialist, Mr. Keith Summerford.

CES students enjoyed a read-aloud from police officers!

The students at Central Elementary School enjoyed their monthly visit from their bookworm. Officers from Tuscaloosa Police Department read a story aloud to students and provided them with a personal copy of the book to add to their home library.

CES students celebrated all the places they can visit when they read during Read Across America Week. They enjoyed guest readers, dress-up days, and a parade around the school.

Central Elementary students gave performances at their Black History Month program Friday. The program featured songs, poems and chants from all grades at CES. Westlawn Middle School students and the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity each performed step acts.
